Q. What is your style?

My wedding day style is focused on balancing three types of content; candid, artistic, and traditional. My approach to the day when shooting photography, video, or a hybrid of the two is always focused toward the candid moments that are not forced or posed. However there are times when I will give some direction, ideas, or suggestions when shooting artistic couple photos or traditional family photos. My style is tailored to meet the needs of the couple, the needs of the wedding day, and to create the best product possible for my clients.

Q. How do you deliver images and the highlight film?

I will deliver both on a custom flash drive and will also make an online download available for both the wedding day images and the highlight film.

Q. What is a highlight film?

The highlight film is created from video clips taken throughout the wedding day. The highlight film is essentially a music video that highlights special moments from the wedding day. The highlight film is just another creative way to remember your day. The copyrights to the music are purchased by The Grove Photo + Film so the highlight film can be legally shared on social media if a couple wishes to do so.

Q. Will you travel for a wedding?

I live in Indianapolis and I love to travel. I would quote a reasonable travel fee for a wedding day that requires considerable travel.

Q. Is the whole ceremony, full speeches, and whole dances recorded in the highlight film?

At this time I do not record the whole ceremony, full speeches, and whole dances. Delivering those items in their entirety and with full audio would require another full day videographer, which would put me at a higher price point than I would like. The highlight films are essentially music videos and although I will record a lot of footage I do not promise to deliver those events in their entirety.

Q. What is the complimentary highlight film in The Oak package and how is it captured?

Although my main priority will be photography and delivering full wedding day images, I will also capture other details and other wedding day moments with video clips. This allows me to tell your story through a complimentary 2 to 3 minute highlight film. I enjoy being creative in this way and I enjoy delivering something extra to couples. I accomplish this by carrying two identical full-frame cameras with me all day and both are set to capture, at any moment, professional photos and video as the day unfolds.

Q. Why do you shoot in a hybrid photo and video style?

I love both photography and film-making. When shooting hybrid on a wedding day I will always prioritize the photography, however I’ve discovered that there are plenty of opportunities to do both and sometimes both at once. I think video is very powerful and the complimentary highlight film is just a fun way to remember your day along with images. I know that the wedding day can be very expensive and that hiring the videographer(s) can be seen as an expensive add-on. This is why I wanted to offer couples a reasonable solution and bring lots of value to them.

Q. Do you photograph engagement sessions?

I do, however I choose not to add that expense upfront to any of my packages. If a couple wishes to have an engagement session I am happy to quote that session along with their desired package.

Q. How soon will we receive our edited images and our highlight film?

I like to complete the highlight film and edit a few sneak peak images first so the couple can share a part of their day quickly. The complete turnaround on images and the highlight film will be guaranteed within four to six weeks from the wedding day or sooner depending on the season.

Q. What happens if we need more than 8 hours of coverage?

The 8 hour day is simply a baseline and im committed to telling your whole story so I may choose to come a little early or stay a little late without any additional cost. However if you decide in advance that you will need more than 8 hours of coverage, I am happy to quote that flat rate along with your desired package.
